Palo Alto Networks™ is a network security company. Its next-generation firewalls enable unprecedented visibility and granular policy control of applications and content – by user, not just IP address – at up to 20Gbps with no performance degradation. Based on patent-pending App-ID™ technology, Palo Alto Networks firewalls accurately identify and control applications – regardless of port, protocol, evasive tactic or SSL encryption – and scan content to stop threats and prevent data leakage. Enterprises can for the first time embrace Web 2.0 and maintain complete visibility and control, while significantly reducing total cost of ownership through device consolidation. Most recently, Palo Alto Networks has enabled enterprises to extend this same network security to remote users with the release of GlobalProtect™ and to combat targeted malware with its WildFire™ service.
Talari has been redefining WAN reliability and application performance and quality by aggregating multiple diverse networks into a virtual WAN. They continuously adapt the flow of traffic based on the availability and real-time quality of the network paths. Talari ensures applications that rely on a WAN are not affected by underlying network issues. Their patented technology delivers significant cost savings over single provider networks while also increasing reliability and quality. You can send VoIP and video down all networks simultaneously, first one to reach the other end wins. The quality and reliability of these technologies skyrockets.
Talari has received numerous industry awards and accolades, including being named a Gartner Cool Vendor, Best of Interop, Performance Optimization and Techworld Awards, and 2012 Networking Application Product of the Year.
Blue Ridge Networks is a quiet little company that has been servicing the Intel community for almost two decades. They produce two technologies:
1. Borderguard: Blue Ridge Networks began life owning the intellectual property developed by a company called Network Systems – which is the worlds strongest VPN technology available to the commercial sector. This is a completely closed system with it’s own PKI and two factor authentication built in and has many more cryptographic options than IPSec. This is for customers where IPSec and/or SSL is not good enough. Based on the major flaws that are being found in SSL, everyone should be looking for a truly secure option for its site to site and client to site VPNs. Blue Ridge Networks also provides the capability to turn any Windows system into a secure terminal – and when you are finished using it leaves no trace of its existence on the PC that was used. They call this Edgeguard, built on the secure foundation that the Borderguard provides.
2. Appguard: A lightweight Windows app that, when installed and properly configured, reduces the threat vector to as close to zero as possible. I won’t claim zero, but I will say that it has never been bypassed, and it has a long history of preventing major infections wherever it is installed. Malware has even been discovered sitting idle on customer systems for over 8 months before their Antivirus started alarming and it could be removed; Appguard had made the malware harmless. It prevents all protected applications from doing anything they would not normally do – examples would be altering the registry or starting strange new processes. This technology prevents all known and unknown threats from running. You can prevent access to USB, prevent anything from executing from USB, or from being written to USB. The biggest point: You can comfortably remove that thick antivirus program and run the free AV once a month to remove the junk. You no longer have to install Windows updates unless you want to and are ready.
You do realize that Antivirus doesn’t work, right? It never has – it has been a false sense of security from the beginning; they can only stop what they know about, and they don’t find out about it until someone has been infected and they can reverse engineer the virus. How long does that take? Could be days, weeks, months – or many months. Appguard completely alleviates the problem and increases system performance because you free up resources that were consumed by AV. Or you can leave AV there until you really do realize its worthless, then remove it.
Appguard is available as an on-premise solution, cloud access for management, or fully managed service.
